Remove the Indent from Forwarded Outlook Express Mail
By Ed Vignone

By default Outlook Express adds an indent character before each line of text in a forwarded Email. The indent character is usually the "greater than" character ">."
The text below shows a section of an Email that has been forwarded many times and has been indented across the page.

You can prevent this from happening to your Emails by doing the following:

  • Open “Outlook Express.”
  • On the "Menu bar" click "Tools", and then click on "Options" in the drop down menu.

3) In the Options pop-up menu click on the "Send" Tab.

      4) Under "Mail Sending Format" click on the "Plain Text Settings…" button. In the "Plain Text Setting" pop-up menu uncheck "Indent the original text", click "OK".

Under “HTML Settings…” pop-up menu uncheck "Indent message on reply”, click “OK” twice.

These setting will prevent you from propagating the annoying indent.
Now tell all your friends!!
