Hydrangeas are one of our favorite plants. The 10-12 inch diameter flowers are just gorgeous. The blue/purple flowers are so striking.

Most of these plants produce flowers that are uniformly light red to pink. If you want blue flowers, then you must add a special mix.
This photo shows the special blueing mix we use. Start treatment early in the spring before the flowers start to bud out. Add one level teaspoon of the mix for every foot of plant height. Repeat every six weeks until flowers begin to form.
