Last month we described the Saddleback College Horticultural Department plant sale scheduled for November 16 and 17 . The sale was a huge success. We were there at 9:00 AM the morning of the 16 th. It was a fun and rewarding experience. All proceeds went to scholarships for students that are studying in that field. Naomi and I bought parsley and thyme, plus two huge hanging baskets of Tradescantia Zebrina. See photo. The prices for the plants were very, very reasonable. The plant shown in the photo was 24” wide and 48”high. The cost was just $12.
It was exciting to see the enthusiasm and knowledge of the students. While we were there, some of the students invited us to come back for the spring sale which will be held in April or May. We will post the actual date of the spring sale once it is announced.
