Fruit Seeds

Have you ever bought fresh fruit from the grocery store and come home and marveled at how delicious the fruit was? Maybe the thought occurred to you that it would be great to have a tree that could produce wonderful fruit like that. We are talking about all types of fruit and citrus: apples, oranges, tangerines, mangos, persimmons, lemons, apricots, peaches, etc.

Well, here is a fun tip. Save the seeds. Place them on aluminum foil and set them in the sun to dry. This takes about 2-3 weeks. Do some Internet research on the particular type of seed you are working with and find out the particulars of handling and treating that particular type of seed.

The attached photos show results from a delicious mango we bought at a local grocery a few months back. Photo 1 shows the seed:

Photo 2 shows the plant at the six inch stage,

and Photo 3 the plant has grown to 12 inches.

Currently, the tree is three feet tall and will be ready for planting in March. The seed and tree has been grown in a potting soil mixture from MircleGro.

I have apricots, mangos and tangerine trees grown from seeds. More to follow this year.

Remember!! Save those seeds. Plant them. And see your tree grow.
