Corn Bread Sticks

Ingredients

  • One cup of corn meal
  • One cup of all purpose flour
  • 2 ts baking powder
  • ¼ ts baking soda
  • 2 tbs sugar
  • ½ ts salt
  • 2 cups of buttermilk
  • One egg
  • ¼ cup of vegetable oil

 

Directions

Mix all dry ingredients. Add the buttermilk. Mix. Add the egg. Mix. Add the vegetable oil. Mix.

Coat pan with ½ ts of vegetable oil for each ‘stick’.

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Placed cast iron pans in oven while preheating.

Pour mixture into the stick pans and place in the oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.

Note: if you do not have the stick pans, then use a cast iron skillet. Pour entire mixture into the skillet.
