Do Not Call Registry

 How many times have you sat down to dinner and then been interrupted by a telephone call from a telemarketer? It can turn a nice person into a not-so-nice person. Basically, it is an invasion of privacy.

Now we can all do something about this. The Federal Trade Commission has established a DO NOT CALL Registry. If you elect to place your telephone numbers, both home and cell, with this Registry, then you will eliminate most of the telemarketers.

The use of your cell phone number (s) by these people is especially annoying. The time spent talking to them or listening to their messages on voice mail can cost YOU money.

There are two groups of organizations that are exempt from this law. Political and non-profit fundraisers. If you should get a call from one of these organizations, then a quick response from you telling them that you are on the Do Not Call Registry will get them off the line off the line in a hurry.
